Hitting the high notes

Trumpets blasting, drums banging, bells ringing, all aspects of the most audible activity in the school, band. The junior high band has been working on music for Christmas parades and winter concerts. They played in the Caney Christmas Parade on the 2nd of December. The band enjoys many fun experiences with each other throughout the year. “My favorite part of the band would probably be when we travel to the state fair,” says 8th grader Gauge Franklin. Pep bands are a large part of the second semester of the year, and everyone has their favorite songs. 8th grader Brody Brown’s favorite song is “Soul Finger”. The band practices early mornings during marching season to get the stepping patterns down. Even though it can be cold or rainy, they always seem to have a good time.
