Pups run through League

League Champs was what the CVJH Cross Country team earned the title of on October 14th, at the end of this year’s season. “I thought it went pretty well, we all started out a little rough but by the end of the season everybody was running very well”, said eighth grader, Silas Good while mentioning how the season went.

This year’s season started off at Girard and ended at the Tri Valley league meet in Caney. “ I thought we improved a lot as the season went on,” said Eighth grader Madelyn Mills.

Seventh Grader Drake Roberds placed fourth overall in league while Good placed fifth.“If you’re not willing to put in the work it’s not something that you’ll want to do,” says Good.

In the girls category Mills placed eighth while Avianna Bounds placed ninth. When asked what he would tell someone wanting to join Cross Country, Roberds replied, “ Work hard, train for it, and don’t give up”.

“Overall it was a great year and I was super proud of the hard work and positive attitudes. It’s been a pleasure coaching the seniors and they will definitely be missed. It was great to have a lot of new faces this year and hopefully the program can continue to grow in the future.” -Coach Kristalyn
